NSW uses a graduated licensing scheme. To get a full driver licence under this scheme, you will need to complete all stages as below:

Preparing for your NSW driving licence tests
Before taking the tests, you will need to prepare and study the relevant guide or handbook, and test yourself using the online practice tests and modules (for computer-based tests only):

- Hazard Perception Handbook (PDF, 1.4Mb) and online practice HPT modules
- Driver Qualification Handbook and online practice DQT modules
