Safer Drivers Course NSWThe Safer Drivers Course NSW is a combined theoretical and practical course for learner drivers under 25 years old who have completed 50 log book driving hours.

The Safer Drivers Course NSW involves two modules:

  • Module 1: Three hours of facilitated group discussion on how to manage risks on the road.
  • Module 2: Two hours of in-vehicle coaching with an instructor and another learner, to develop low-risk driving strategies.

Courses are run by accredited course providers, and are restricted to a maximum of 12 participants for Module 1. The course provider supplies a dual-controlled vehicle for the in-vehicle coaching module.

You must complete the modules in order, and Module 2 should be completed within one month of Module 1. You will only receive the 20 hours log book credit when you complete both modules within one month of each other.

You can’t fail the course – there is no assessment or pass/fail component.
